Where in the article did it say anything like that?
I saw nowhere where it claimed those addictions developed BECAUSE of their reading material. It simply said it CAN happen that women become addicted to these things, and I HATE TO DISILLUSION YOU but I have had readers COME UP TO ME AND TELL ME THEY ARE ADDICTED TO MY BOOKS. So what? I consider it a compliment! And you can't convince me that it wasn't meant to be just that. Something good. Not something evil.
