Having been the victim of an equally vicious reporter, I'm surprised anyone who knows anything about Robin actually was gullible enough to BELIEVE what that reporter wrote.
I remember a big article about me early in my career in which I was quoted as saying I was a "bored housewife" and had "nothing better to do". WHAT??!! I worked full time. Had two children under seven. Was secretary of the Lioness Club that year and co-president of the local elementary PTO. I drove my father to another state once a month for eye treatments so he wouldn't go blind and the reporter decided I thought I was bored and THAT's why I started writing??!!
He even went as far as to put "bored little housewife" in the headline! He never mentioined the fact that I could barely scrape up enough time to write one page a day and that it took a year to write that first book. It frightens me to believe someone out there who knew me may have actually believed that drivel.
I've known Robin for probably 17 or 18 years (we're both Lifetimers) and can tell you she is an ADVOCATE for romance, not someone ashamed of writing it.
For those who won't let this issue be viewed for what it really is....I feel sorry for having to live with such narrow vision. And, please, don't start spreading rumors that these comments came from some bored little housewife, because I still work full time, and I am having to settle two estates, and am dealing with a 1999 IRS audit with the auditor from h**l. I'm far from BORED!
I'm not even sure I understand the meaning of the word....it's foreign to me. But I do understand the meaning of the word "misinterpretted".
