I've been following this thread all day, and I have to say that while some of the posters may have made a personal attack upon RLH, it seems quite unfair that you denounce every oster on this thread as having disparaged Ms. Hatcher. Many posters wished RLH the best of luck even as they said they disagreed with what she was quoted to have said in the article. You have done as much of a disservice here as the posters you are trying to shame.
For the most part I've found the discussion fascinating. I didn't take anything in the article to heart, because I know what I like, I know I have nothing to be ashamed about. My reading choices are MINE. No one can shame me, or make me feel bad for what I read. I choose not to read christian romance because I don't need to read about someone elses christian beliefs. I have mine and that's enough for me. As for the addiction to sex/ reading romance. I'd rather read than watch tv. I see no reason to see that as an addiction. It's just how I spend my free time.
That said, I appreciate every author and reader hear who came to the defense of the romance community. Regardless of what we read, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that we can all stand in defense of a genre that we love.
Robin Lee Hatcher can continue to write what is in her heart, and I wish her all the success in her chosen forum. Me, I'll continue to support the authors that give me the books I enjoy the most.
