About Me |
I read constantly. I read while I'm waiting for the train,
on the train and while I wait for pages to download on my computer.
I even read during on-line chats. It is highly unusual for me to be
without a book or a magazine.
In one form or another, I've been reading romances for most of
my life (I'm mid-thirties, thank you very much). I started with
Cinderella and it's progressed from there. Since I've been
on-line, I've become more open to different romances. While I am
not a big Regency fan, I find that if a book has generated enough positive
comments, I am willing to check it out. I never would have known that Nora
Roberts wrote series romances; now I do, and now I sometimes read series
romance. My favorite romance is still the historical. There is something
about men in kilts or Victorian dress that really touches me. Historicals
are magic. Imagining yourself in another place and time can do wonders
for the soul, especially on a day where you wish you were anywhere else
but where you are. Some of my favorite authors are Julie Garwood, Suzanne
Brockmann and Nora Roberts. I am also more of a fan of Chick Lit and have
especially enjoyed Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner and Bridget
Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding.
In real life, I am a Project Manager/Production Coordinator for an
electronic publisher of health content. Rather a Jill-of-all-trades, if you
will.
My goals in life are simple...world domination and turning as many
people as I can onto the joys of reading.

Personal Reading Tastes |
What I'm a sucker for in a book: Tortured heroes, tortured
heroines, smart heroines, nerdy heroes, humor in historicals, witty dialogue,
strong (but not mean) heroes, feisty (but not bitchy) heroines, and good
supporting characters.
What I don't particularly care for in a book: Work romances,
best friends falling in love, road romances, religious themes, and May/December
romances.
What drives me absolutely nuts in a book: The Big Misunderstanding,
heroes who constantly think or comment about a woman's anatomy, sex scenes for
the sake of sex scenes, TSTL heroines, and whiny heroines.
