About Me |
I can still remember the day I learned to read. I was four
years old and suddenly the words in one of my favorite books made
sense! It was a wonderful feeling and I cherish that memory. My mother
filled my room with all types of books. I had more books than all of
my friends put together. My love of reading started early and I learned
never to leave home without a book in my bag! My first romances were
the young adult Sweet Dreams and Sunfire books. I picked
up a Harlequin romance at the store when I was in seventh grade and
moved on to historical romances in a very short amount of time.
Historical romances are still my favorites, especially medievals,
but I enjoy some contemporaries also. I also read science fiction/fantasy
and mysteries. The ultimate read for me is a book that combines
fantasy elements with a great romance. I also have a soft spot in
my heart for tormented heroes.
Since I now spend most of my time chasing around our toddler, I
have less time to read. My husband and I also have 3 cats and a dog to
round out our family. Some of my favorite authors are: Adele Ashworth,
Anne Bishop, Loretta Chase, Connie Brockway, Christina Dodd, Lisa Kleypas,
Christine Feehan, Jayne Ann Krentz in all her forms, Susan Krinard,
Anne Stuart, Jo Beverley, Rosemary Edghill, Laurell K Hamilton,
Elizabeth Peters, Nora Roberts, Laura Kinsale, and Mary Jo Puntey,
just to name a few!

Personal Reading Tastes |
What I'm a sucker for in a book: Paranormal, time-travel, or
futuristic settings (bring on the vampires and werewolves too!), tortured
heroes and heroines, bluestocking heroines, wounded or scarred heroes,
virginal heroes, bad boy/good girl stories, intelligent characters, and
witty dialogue.
What I don't particularly care for in a book: Precocious,
unrealistic children, western settings, lack of love scenes, amnesia
stories, and straight Regencies.
What drives me absolutely nuts in a book: Big Misunderstandings
that can be resolved in 5 minutes had the hero and heroine simply communicated,
TSTL heroines, cardboard characters, "I hate you, let's go to bed" plots,
secret pregnancy/baby plots, and long separations.
