My name is Cindy, and I live in Ontario Canada with my husband Bob, two hounds from hell (now there is only one, our Rocky passed at 13 ½ years a month into our new home. The vet said he didn't look anywhere near his age - he only had one bad day in his life and in the end there was nothing we could do for him) and two cats.
My hobbies center around decorating and renovating houses as well as reading and watching way too much TV. My husband and I have officially 'flipped' two homes and just bought the third flipper the same day we bought a new (built in 1958) house for us. I moved in with Bob when we married so this is the first house we have bought together and since we've been looking for 8 years, we are truly excited.
As to reading, it was never really something I did for fun as a child and it was only when I discovered romance books at the old age of 18 that I became a lover of all things book. I have a small list of auto-buy authors (many of my authors moved to romantic suspense and forgot to keep the romance) and have been stretching out to try new authors. This year I have discovered J.R. Ward, Lisa Valdez, Pamela Clare, Kresley Cole, Nalini Singh and Kathleen Bacus (more mystery but one can hope a romance will show up). I will admit my TBR pile is really a mountain and there are too many authors in there that I have yet to try. Even though we have now moved my poor books are in nice boxes stacked in a walk-in closet. We have no bookshelves in our new home! Hopefully that will be remedied soon so I can sit and visit with my books!

What I'm a sucker for in a book: I love alpha heroes hands down. Give me a book by Anne Stuart and I'm in heaven. I just finished reading J.R. Ward's Lover Awakened, and Zsadist is the kind of hero I go nuts for. Derek Craven is on the list, and new to the list is Lucas Hunter, alpha leader of a cat tribe from a book by author Nalini Singh.
What I don't particularly care for in a book: Traditional Regencies and closed doors (the closed door bit will always keep a book from being a keeper).
What drives me absolutely nuts in a book: Secret babies, twins, spies, long separations, and sex without chemistry.
