| Ninety percent of the time I read romances, but I also like to throw in a mystery once in a while. All About Romance does a great job rating romances, but I have recently come across a couple of mysteries which were way to graphic for my taste. Does anyone know if there is a site out there that rates mysteries as to sex/violance/language the way All About Romance rates them for sensuality? |

I don't know if www.themysteryreader.com rates for violence or not.
I quit reading a lot of mysteries for the same reason so I don't actually seek out reviews. _________________ Gone to Rainbow Bridge - Lily 2000-2011 |

Neither ReviewingtheEvidence.com nor MysteryInk.com has a specific violence rating, but the reviews on both are comprehensive enough that it's usually mentioned. _________________ Binocular vision, no need to hop, and an ever-so-much easier time of it climbing ladders.

Excessive/graphic violence in mysteries (and romantic suspense) is a problem for me as well.
The Mystery Reader doesn't have a specific violence rating and I haven't found another site that does. I generally find I can be safe if a book is categorized as a "cozy" mystery. But historical mysteries (my favorite mystery genre) can be iffy.
I'm fortunate to have an excellent local mystery bookstore with a knowledgeable owner. When in doubt, I consult with her. _________________ LinnieGayl |

I've reached the point where I basically expect that the plot twist will be incest. Especially, for some reason, if the story is set in the south. |
