Anyone watching? Total mind f*ck! I'm too much of a weenie to watch it at night, I'm DVRing it and watching during the day. So creepy!

I know I couldn't watch this, but if you like Mads Mikkelsen and want to see him in a very different role, you should rent "A Royal Affair". It's based on the true story of a young German doctor who became the royal physician to the King of Denmark and tried to bring about Enlightenment reforms to what was then a very conservative country. He also had an affair with the Queen. A very good film, and Mikkelsen plays the good doctor.

Sounds interesting. I thought about watching, then missed it. What day is this on?

I haven't been real familiar with Mads Mikkelsen but he is playing his role brilliantly. I am really getting into the character of Will, played by Hugh Dancy but both if them together are really something.

Xina, it's on NBC Thursday nights at 10pm, if you have On Demand you can grab the two you missed.

Watched Hannibal last night, and you are right Linda...really creepy. Since I haven't watched the first 2 shows, I was a little lost, but will catch up this week.

Oh good!! I hope you can catch up on the first two, I posted the NBC link in the SOA thread. It's creepier than I would usually get into but I am so drawn in. Just must watch in the daytime, haha

Kind of bloody too. I don't usually go for that either, but I'm thinking that they won't go too far being that it is not on a cable channel.

I was very intrigued after watching the 1st episode but as the series goes along I'm not in love with Bryan Fuller's vision. So far it's been mostly style over substance imho.

Hugh Dancy's Will Graham is not working for me. I found the character much more interesting in the book. Graham is tormented yes, but not autistic and he's not a psychic. I hate all the visions. It's like he's a comic book character with super empathy. Rolling Eyes I much perferred William Peterson's performance in Manhunter where Graham immerses himself in the case, goes through the victim's houses and tires to figure what he would do to get into the killer's head not just stand around and have visions.

I'm still watching because I like Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal. He is nothing like Anthony Hopkins but I think I like that. I'm waiting to get more of his story. Unfortunately, I have a hard time with the actor's accent so that's driving me a little nuts. I like that they are dealing with Jack Crawford's wife having cancer. That was the best part of the last episode imo. I like that Graham has a ton of dogs. Smile The perversity of Hannibal cooking meals for Crawford works for me and is true to the spirit of the books. It's pretty creepy to tie in Hannibal's sympathy note to Crawford about his wife after he has been caught and is in prison. I don't find the show scary at all but maybe they'll give us another interesting villan besides Hannibal at some point.

On a separate note I'm very annoyed that they pulled an episode because of Boston. Bad things happen in the world all the time. We don't need tv execs to decide what is too upsetting for people to watch. If you are chosing to watch Hannibal you know what it's about. If you don't want to see violence, for god's sake, don't watch a show about serial killers and don't tell me I can't watch something because it's going to upset someone else.

I love the character of Will, but then I never read the books or watched the original movies so I'm going in without any previous influence.

I agree about pulling the ep, I found a place to watch it online but it's since disappeared.

As much violence that's on the show, it seems pretty pointless.

I just read that the NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City has decided not air any further episodes of HANNIBAL after receiving viewer complaints due to the violence/disturbing content. Of course it's a heavily Mormon market and this affiliate apparently never carries Saturday Night Live either (though IMHO that's not much of a loss these days!).

I've not read the books or seen this series, but I loved Manhunter with William Peterson and Brian Cox's Hannibal wasn't bad either . . .

I really liked last night's episode, probably because it focused on Hannibal and not Will Graham. I love that Hannibal has a rolodex of recipes & victims for his dinner party. Laughing Gillian Anderson was soo good as Hannibal's pyschiatrist. She had just the right amount of cool detachment and came off as Hannibal's equal. I liked seeing Lector having to put up with an annoying patient and their discussion on loneliness leading up to Hannibal seeking out Will after he missed his appointment. The show works for me when it focuses on Hannibal. I'm still not happy with Hugh Dancy's Will Graham. I'm tired of the visions and Will's psychosis.

I really enjoyed the last ep too but I also love the visions and Will's psychosis, heck I even love the elk! lol Yes, it was interesting to see Hannibal squirm in this one, with both his patient and his doctor. I assume with the patient he has to put up with him, to do away with him would be too risky. The recipes and the dinner - ugh! I was eating lunch watching this on the DVR and had to put it down, What do you suppose was in the beer? Shocked

I love it all, except for the red haired reporter chick. Would it make me a bad person if I said I wanted Hannibal to eat her? At least she wasn't there in this one..

I didn't even think about that. Now I'm really wondering what was in that beer. Shocked
