|
| In Julia Quinn's The Lost Duke of Wyndham, Jack describes a very sensuous painting to Grace. Does anyone know if that painting is real and, if so, whether I could find an image of it online? I gave away my copy of the book too soon, before I had a chance to look this up. Thanks for any info. |

| The painting is lovely, although it is a little upsetting to my 21C sensibilities to realize that the subject was only 14 at the time. Boucher certainly knew how to capture the sensuous -- I can understand why King Louis fell for Ms. Murphy's skin tones and curves even before he met her. |
