I've only read the first two in the series, and I wouldn't consider myself a fan, but i've always pictured someone like Michelle Rodriguez as Eve. And Roarke...a younger Pierce Brosnan perhaps.

Although, thinking about it, they don't make a very good couple.

I don't want to sound negative, but I sincerely hope they NEVER make a movie out of the In Death series. I am a great fan of the series, and have not grown tired of it yet, so I am perhaps a little oversensitive on the subject.
How many books have you read that were a disappointment when translated into films? How many (even great) actors have you felt did not match the image you had of the characters?

How can any man portray Roarke? I think that Eve might be easier to cast (but not by much), but Roarke, IMO, is impossible. You need a charming, suave, debonair, gorgeous, SMART guy. Not that they don't exist, and I would agree that a young Pierce Brosnan might have fit the bill (plus he is irish too !!!). But he is too old now. And of course, my "gorgeous" is someone else's "what's so special about him"...

Then the chosen actors must have incredible chemistry, fit as a couple, etc...

Frankly, I think it's a disaster waiting to happen..... As an action film, murder mystery, not so much, but for the romance side of things.... ??? Ouch !!!!!!! But then, perhaps I am overly pessimistic.....
