I've read quite a few on the backlist, but it hasn't been updated in a while. Has there been anything new in the virgin hero category in 2011 or perhaps 2012, or upcoming?

No particular setting.

Any recs, appreciated.

I want to second Ash's selection. Great, great novel. The hero has written a "how to" guide for men for maintaining chastity; he is not a religious fanatic or narrow-minded. He's funny, thoughtful, and a little tortured from his awful childhood. Naturally, the forces against him bet a courtesan that she can't seduce him. I usually really, really don't like prostitute heroines, but this one is great. Fabulous, fabulous book!

Unclaimed sounds awesome. I just bought it. I really liked Courtney's first novel, but her second one was a bomb for me, so I didn't pick up any more. But this sounds my speed! thanks for the rec!

If you haven't read Miranda Neville's The Dangerous Viscount, I recommend that as well. It got a positive review here.

I just read this over Christmas and enjoyed it very much. The hero truly believes that male chastity supports the virtue of women--he LIKES women, which is quite refreshing. I've enjoyed some courtesan heroine books in the past, but they are usually as part of a series, as this one was. But, this one was quite different from previous books that I have read.

I would really read "Unveiled" before this one, though. The entire family situation is convoluted. Although, I will say that this one is more of a read-alone than the 3rd book.

Another I've recently come across is "Bid for a Bride" by Ruth Ann Nordin.

This is also a "blind hero" book. I really enjoyed it--the heroine has been tricked into a marriage that turns out to be bigamy. She is abandoned in a small town, and the hero, after the locals help her out of her marriage, agrees to marry her (other men in town are waiting to see if she is pregnant because they don't want her if she is).

That was my least favorite of the series, I think, but still a good read. I *wanted to like the H & h, but couldn't quite bring myself to do so. I actually like them much better when they appear in the next book. I have enjoyed the series as a whole, though.

I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. And, to keep with the topic, I would say that old Blake is about the next best thing to the opposite of a virgin hero. Wink

Ah well, a case of different strokes, as I liked The Dangerous Viscount a great deal. I also liked the first in the series. It was fun to have a relatively young (24) hero. So often we seem to get the older, sophisticated rakes who instruct the heroines in Life and Love, and I'm a bit tired of the trope. Cain was certainly a rake, but underneath there was such enthusiasm and energy and a sense of openness that was very appealing.

I second The Dangerous Viscount. I enjoyed it very much as well.

One that is less historically accurate and had a few eye rollers but that I still enjoyed is The Danger of Desire by Elizabeth Essex.

A new virgin hero:
Robert Blaisdell Duke of Clermont in The Duchess War by Courtney Milan.
By the way, loved the book.
