A friend asked me for recommendations for books where a good part of the story focuses on courtship. She wants books where the hero makes a genuine and concentrated attempt to woo the fair maiden
I'm drawing a complete blank for some reason...any suggestions? |

I would say Lynn Kurland, but I couldn't even tell you which book to start with. Browsing her website might be good, though. She is all about the "wooing."
If your friend doesn't mind ghosts, then Much Ado in the Moonlight followed by When I Fall In Love gives you a mid-stream overview of both of Kurland's series families.

This is a controversial recommenation but...
Whitney My Love by Judith McNaught (Throughout heroine is interested in someone else but hero is persistant to have her can be considered a bit obsessive but I liked it)
Also:
Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas (This one made me a fan of hers actually liked Simon Hunt's pursuit of Annabelle) _________________ Romance my favorite reading pastime. |

Devil's Bride by Stephanie Laurens. The hero is definitely the one perusing the heroine. _________________ She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain. -Louisa May Alcott |

I know this is a typo, but it made me laugh. Devil certainly does peruse her.

| Nalini Singh's Play of Passion has lots and lots of courtship. |

Recently, I just finished a rereading glomfest of The Cynster men, and really...they all persue (and peruse) the heroine...doggedly. I read up to book 6 or 7. Gotta love their determination, because they all have it in spades! _________________ "As you wish"

I agree all of the Cynster men in Stephanie Laurens Cynster series do a lot of pursuing.
Most of Nalini Singh's Psy/Changling series has the hero spending a lot of time pursuing the heroine.
A lot of Lisa Kleypas books also fall into this category. A few that come to mind are: Married By Morning, Mine Till Midnight, Then Came You, Secret's of a Summer's Night |
