I read a news article that "some" publishers were meeting to discuss an alternative to DRM so ebook buyers could keep their books if they changed devices (Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Sony etc) .

It was a long article which said to me "We want you to keep buying our books at whatever price we want to charge so we are going to show you how compassionate we are while we follow own own profit train and our old business models"

I see the article is also posted on RT's site . Figures!

I am cynical about the whole issue.
