Ok so she was definitely in my top five author list but everything she describes here in what she looks for in a hero and heroine is exactly what I love to read and she takes care of all my pet peeves in romances that I probably do have without realizing it. I just realized that what has held me from fully shaking my pom poms for Ms. Thomas books is most likely that she takes me away from my comfort zone but has the power to put me back there again and feeling completely satisfied.
For her to have me overcome one of the biggest issues in a romance in Not Quite A Husband for me as a reader well I always said this showed her to be one of the rare complex writers that has such skill as to lose me and ween me slowly back. Yes she satisfied me in the end.
I love her.

| Thanks so much Islandgirl2 for linking us to the Sherry Thomas interview at the Popular Romance Project. I like her take on the heroes and heroines - I suppose that partially explains why I am a fan of her books too! |

This. Exactly this.
Love me some Sherry Thomas. I think I heard somewhere she's working on a contemporary series. |

What was the issue Thomas had to overcome for you in NOT QUITE A HUSBAND ? Was it the infidelity thing?
Thanks for the link! |

Definitely the infidelity. I'm very stong on my opinion on that issue and usually that would be a book to the wall walk away from author moment. Considering that was my first Sherry Thomas book and I didn't know her work you'd think I'd stop and do just that. But for some reason the story just had me at a pull and didn't want to let me go. I was able to forgive and still somehow root for the couple despite that huge romance no no rule. I thought that was an amazing talent. _________________ Romance my favorite reading pastime. |

From Sherry's website- "August 25, 2009 » It's an excerpt bonanza! Check out the newly created page for HIS AT NIGHT. And then, check out the excerpt from Sherry's not-yet-shopped contemporary romance. Have fun. "

This was posted in 2009, hope she found a publisher and it's coming soon. |

Link to excerpt from contemp tentatively titled "One Night Stands"
http://www.sherrythomas.com/ons.php
Also "Bennett Somerset is the great-great-grandson of Stuart Somerset and Verity Durant from DELICIOUS. He is also the great-great-grandson of Camden and Gigi, Lord and Lady Tremaine, from PRIVATE ARRANGEMENTS. "
Maybe she'll self-publish if she can't find a publisher? |

Thanks so much for the link! Loved the tango scene! I hope she thinks about publishing this too.
I have followed her website for the past two years, but never recall her talking about a contemporary. Wonder if she dropped the idea after 2009? If Random House (her current publisher) isn't interested in publishing it, it may be hard contractually to publish it as an indie. |

I contacted Sherry Thomas through her website email and asked if she had any plans to publish the contemporary, “One Night Stands.” I got a fun reply from her that the book is not ready to publish in its current form. Because of her current tight schedule, it may be a while before she can shape it up properly. She wasn’t sure if anything would come of it. So I guess that is a "maybe!" With all the goodies coming out from her this year, I can be happy with that! |
