When talking politics causes hard feelings, I suppose it's time humor is called for. Can you think of characteristic revealing jokes that make fun of BOTH parties? I heard this one in April:
A person fell into the Potomac River and yelled for help.
A Republican came by and threw the person a 50-foot rope. Wonderful!
But the person was 100-foot offshore...
Then came a Democrat and threw the person a 150-foot rope. Wonderful!
But the rescuer let go of his end of the rope... |

Well, I tried but I don't know any jokes that make fun of both parties. 
This one was great though.
