Sorry to bother you, but I'm going to New York and Boston for a couple of weeks, and I'll be grateful if you could recommend some used bookstore in Manhattan or Boston.

There's a Salvation Army Thrift Shop at 536 West 46th Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues, IIRC) which carries books. It's very hit or miss, but I've bought a number of books there, as well as a gorgeous red wool blazer for $15 -- a real bargain.
I'm not sure if it's still there, but there used to be a branch of the public library on Fifth Avenue across from the main building (the one with Patience and Fortitude, the lions). It had a UBS within it, but it was only open on weekdays. If still there, it's definitely worth checking out.

Speaking of Manhattan, I've been to the following used book store a few times. It's right around the corner from the Midtown Branch of the Public Library, which is actually very close to the Main Branch.

Don't be put off by the emphasis on Japanese material. This UBS does have a couple of bookcases full of English language romance genre fiction. (Walk towards the back of the store in the aisle from which you've entered the store. It's on the right, along the stairs leading to the second floor.) They also have romance, especially hardback, mixed in with their general fiction, which is on the left of that same aisle. |

| for Boston area go on Annie's Book stores .com There is a couple in areas around boston that are great. |
