I feel like AAR has gone from a wide range of romance content to primarily focusing on forums, reviews, and the blog. Like Noirfemme said in her original post, I miss the old core content. The Cover Contest got spun off; the Purple Prose Parody got cancelled; other things seem to have fallen under dustcovers. Just take a look at the "Writer's Side" tab in the main page, for instance: the features are simply massively out of date: Writer's Corner (last updated '08,) Author Interviews ('10), Articles by Authors ('06), Conference Journals ('09), Author Journals ('05), and Rifs on PC ('00).
It may be that the blog has taken over a lot of these functions, but if that's the case, then why retain those out-of-date banners? Just stick them all in an "AAR Archive" rather than having them sit there and make the site look out of date. Then focus on improving tagging in the blogs so you can search by "PC," "Author interviews," etc. within the new place. |

| I wish AAR could use the old method of searching for authors/titles. When I first joined (many years ago) I was able to go through all the A's and look for the type of books I liked (historical), the rating, and then the heat. Now, it seems I either have to know the name of the author or the title of the book to read a review. Sadly, there is no longer any more free-form searching. It is very difficult for me to find new authors with this form of search. |

Hi BarbaraSD,
You can still do a free-style search.
In the Quick Search Box at the bottom you will see :
Do a more in-depth review search via Power Search
When you click on this you will get a screen where you can choose to look for titles by grade, setting and sensuality.
Hope this helps.
