Another new feature from All About Romance

All About Romance is proud and happy to premiere its news and commentary blog – Ta da!  For quite some time the staff here has been wanting to participate with AAR’s readers in a more immediate way, to converse about romance industy news and topics when they emerge, as they emerge.  And now we can via this blog.

So we welcome you, dear readers, to the newest room of our house.  Find a comfy spot and let’s chat about one of the things we love most – romance.  We want you to feel easy here and enjoy the experience, so for this our first blogging, we’d like to ask

  • what topics you’d like AAR to introduce?
  • are there any features you’d like to see here?
  • how can we best entertain and enlighten you about our mutual hobby?

It’s good to see you.  Thanks for joining us here!

This is great. It is also my first blog reponse.

  4. Meljean says:

Oh, this is awesome. Adding it to my RSS feeder immediately.

  5. RfP says:

Super. I’ve wished for some RSS feeds to AAR’s content. This is a good start!

  6. Wow, this is great! Best of luck with the new venture.

As for topics, I’d love to hear more about the niche markets in romance…like…uh…heh heh…science fiction romance (not that I’m biased or anything). But others, too–stories/genres off the beaten path that you could bring to readers’ attentions.

I’m always game for industry news and such.

That’s all I can think of for right now. I look forward to many fun visits.

    This should be fun.

As a new author myself, I’m interested in hearing industry news, promotion opportunities, the writing life, etc.

As a reader, I like to find out about new trends, first-time authors, and especially great books. Honestly, I tend to skip reading reviews about books that somebody didn’t like; I want to know about the latest and greatest :)

    Looking forward to the discussions.

Yay! I’m glad to see AAR join the blogiverse. I look forward to many great romance discussions.

Just plain cool, this site is. :-) I’ll be checking in regularly.

Good luck with this new addition to the site. I’m not one who frequents blogs a lot (only a few occasionally), so I’m not sure how this differs from AAR After Hours. But I can tell you that I love the new look of the masthead along with the vibrant colors–very inviting. I definitely will be checking in to see how it’s evolving and take it from there. Nothing ventured, nothing gained–it’s good to try new things!

  13. Booklover says:

Could we have discussions on modern / contemporary romances please? previously most discussions were on historical romances which are not everyone’s cup of tea!

We could perhaps talk about “why i particularly like this author’s books?” with readers chipping in their bit ie responding

A starting point for some authors to note would be what i call “the millionaire malaise” ie the tendency to have ultra super rich heroes in most contemporary romances. Perhaps its their ToR from the publishers. Time the authors and publishers noted that the romance reading public needs a more realistic variety of heroes in different occupations.

I just adored the Purple Prose contests, and wish you’d run a competition for the funniest entry. May I suggest that a prize–maybe a choice of ten books or, if you’re being generous, a Kindle!

I just adored the Purple Prose contests, and wish you’d run a competition for the general funniest entry connected in some way to romance. May I suggest that a prize–maybe a choice of ten books or, if you’re being generous, a Kindle!
