I know! There have been some great mysteries recently and I love having more settings to choose from. I follow this Norwegian series, and I also like Jo Nesbo's books, which are set in Oslo rather than out in the rural villages. Then there's Tana French's series set in and around Dublin and I also like the Dr. Siri Paiboun books from Colin Cotterill, which are set in 1970s Laos. Romance settings are getting to be a little more varied, too, but there's still a ways to go.

I've been on a mystery glom and this series looks fantastic.

I don't know if it is just a change in my shopping habits or if it is a change in the market but I feel like the mystery genre has exploded in terms of time and location in the last 10 years. I just finished a book set in WWI England. I am reading a series set in WWII New York and now this series set in Norway. (I know, after Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Scandinavian doesn't seem so exotic but I still think it is). Before it seemed like everything I was reading took place in the US. It's been nice to have a much wider variety to choose from.
