I've recently become a big fan of audiobooks - radio stations generally play music I don’t like interspersed with too many commercials, and talk radio is strident and boring. I look forward to your audiobook columns and this one on Linda Howard is particularly informative. I’ve bookmarked this page, but please consider adding audio reviews to Quick Search and Power Search. It would make the reviews so much easier to find. I hope audio reviews are not a difficult addition to AAR search boxes. Consider me volunteered, if I can do anything to assist.

I love your reviews Melinda! You have such a way with words :)

I enjoyed Drop Dead Gorgeous, narrated by Joyce Bean but after listening to To Die For narrated by Franette Leibow, I think she had the better character voice for both Blair and Wyatt. And, it kind of surprises me to say that, because at first (like many listeners) I struggled with her narration. In fact, I only persisted because Lea told me it gets better and it's worth it. She was right. Ms. Liebow's narration took a bit of getting used to but for me, she totally nails Blair. And Wyatt is a dream. Like Lea says above, he doesn't let Blair get away with much - his reason for breaking up with her (prior to the story's start) was so funny!

There are quite a few Linda Howard books I have on my TBL which I'll have to move up now thanks to those reviews above - thank you ladies! :)

I've been listening to The Cutting Edge off and on all day, if Lesa Lockford isn't Natalie Ross then she's the closest understudy I've heard to date ....

I recalled this as an okay read and you may want to kick Brett Ruttlidge a few times on Tessa's behalf but there are much more over the top Howard heroes than Brett. Start with the full knowledge that it's dated material, early in LH's career and you can just let Linda Howard do her thing. ;)

Loved everyone's reviews, Melinda amen to this and LOL!

And when Ross gives him voice, you start wondering if the killers will get Karen so you can step in and comfort Marc yourself.

Marc Chastain is my favorite voice by Natalie Ross - ever - get out your fans ladies...

Carrie: Has anyone read or listened to Howard’s newest release, The Cutting Edge? It’s narrated by Lesa Lockford, a narrator I haven’t heard. Any input would be great.

Interested to know this too although I purchased it night before last (which triggered my 3 credit sale offer at Audible). I guess I'll give just about any Howard a try in audio even with an out-of-control alpha (80s style).

Also, a comment on LinnieGayl's review of DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, the sequel to TO DIE FOR. I agree with her that both books are about the beautiful blond, fit, former cheerleader, heroine Blair as it is written in first person. BUT neither would have worked for me without the hero Wyatt. He's strong and yeah, alpha (Linda Howard - remember). And he has Blair's number. She can't pull anything over him. When I think of TDF and DDG, I think of Wyatt first and Blair second. But then you will find Wyatt as one of my favorite romance heroes on my AAR Profile.

TO DIE FOR is a true contemporary romance (one of my top five) with lots of page time for Blair and Wyatt. DROP DEAD GORGEOUS is a very satisfying sequel.

I just have to add my favorite Linda Howard audios - DEATH ANGEL (I'm sure you can tell by my review), AFTER THE NIGHT, TO DIE FOR (it's really worth getting used to the narrator), KILL AND TELL, DROP DEAD GORGEOUS (need to listen to To Die For first and it has a different narrator), and DREAM MAN.

Although you will find my really enjoying many of the other titles...
