It was great to meet you, Lynn, and I have to agree with Jeannie (who made us all tear up with her GH acceptance speech) that RWA never ceases to be overwhelming. I hope to see you next year in Nashville!

@Katie Mack - Interested you'd mention the market saturation. At the St. Martin's spotlight, it was mentioned specifically as one of the editors gave a diagram of a trend spiral. The editors there said that they're looking for good books and not necessarily striving only to follow a trend.
That being said, I do think there's still a lot of audience out there for paranormals, especially since it seems like a lot of folks are branching out from the vampire/werewolf series. I heard some intruguing - and very new - worldbuilding ideas at RWA.

I'm loving hearing all the feedback from RWA this year. I'm totally not surprised that YA is big given the phenomenon that is Twilight. I'm a bit surprised to see that publishers are looking for even more paranormal authors given that there are so many out there right now. At what point do we reach market saturation with a particular sub-genre, and what will the impact be on those authors?

I was so jealous of everyone who got to attend the conference this year. I'm adding "Go to RWA conference" to my list of things to do before I die. Hopefully I'll get to go next year, but if not maybe I can make it to the next one on the West Coast.
