About Me |
I'm the big reader in my family. I've read constantly ever
since I can remember - Mom says I taught myself how and loves to tease
me about walking around the mall and reading a book.
I can always be found with at least one book in my purse, several strewn
about my car, and about a million on my nightstand and bookshelf at home.
My favorite authors are Judith McNaught, Diana Gabaldon, Nora Roberts,
Suzanne Brockmann, Julie Garwood and Julia Quinn. I started reading
romance with the young adult Sweet Dreams line (my favorites
are Secret Identity, Little Sister, Love Times Two,
and several I can't remember) and the Sunfire books (my favorites are
Victoria, Roxanne, Danielle, Kathleen
and Jessica). My first adult romance was Julie Garwood's
The Gift.
I live in Texas, land of heat. I'm married with no kids and a spoiled
beagle named Belle (from my favorite Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast).
My real job is in communications at a school of public health. Besides
reading, dancing is my other passion. Jazz and ballet are my favorite classes,
and I started taking them again about three years ago. Since then I've found
I like hip hop as well. :) Other hobbies include
scrapbooking (when I find the time), running, traveling and watching Alias.

Personal Reading Tastes |
What I'm a sucker for in a book: Military men, spies, detectives,
romantic suspense, strong heroines, scientist heroes and heroines, external
conflicts that bring the main couple closer together, and humor.
What I don't particularly care for in a book: Stilted dialogue,
repetition of a word too many times, and carrying a motif too far in the
narrative.
What drives me absolutely nuts in a book: Secret babies, amnesia,
will stipulation marriages, TSTL/feisty heroines, big secrets that aren't,
Big Misunderstandings that could be resolved with a two-minute conversation,
heroines who are already pregnant when they meet the hero, and suspense that
isn't suspenseful.
