AAR Ring No More
September 12, 2007: Critical message for AAR Web Ring Members
Earlier this year I discovered that, in all its infinite wisdom, the current management of webring decided to remove ownership of rings they believed had lapsed. One of those rings was AARRing, which I started almost a decade ago. As of today, the AAR Ring, identified within the webring system as likesbooks, is called "Romance Writers Community", the irony of which is not lost on me considering that AAR was built for readers by readers.
In looking over the current structure of the Internet, I've come to the realization that sites like MySpace and Facebook represent to the "oughts" what web rings represented to the 1990s, and as such, have begun a MySpace page for All About Romance. My hope is that many of those who joined AAR Ring will become "friends", to use MySpace parlance, of AAR on MySpace.
