My favorite audition from the first episode of So You Think You Can Dance Season 6 was tap dancer Ryan Kasprzak. Ryan was first introduced to viewers in Season 5, when he and his younger brother Evan both auditioned for the show. When it came time to fill the last slot in the Top 20, it was down to just Evan and Ryan. Evan was chosen, and went on to make it to the Top 4 in Season 5. (more…)

I’m a real sucker for reality dance shows on TV, and am totally delighted that So You Think You Can Dance started up again last week. And soon, Dancing With the Stars will be on again (although I’m much less excited about it this time around). (more…)
So You Think You Can Dance: Shocked?

I’ve so enjoyed this season of SYTYCD. I continue to believe that this season’s top 20 and top 10 are the best yet. In fact,the quality is so evenly dispersed, that it took me a really long time to pick a favorite.
But, this week, I finally settled on Janette as my favorite dancer. Trained in salsa, she showed an amazing ability to excel at every dance thrown at her this season. Through it all, she brought an incredibly joyful attitude to the dance. I really thought she would make it to the top four, and was completely shocked on Thursday when she was voted off. (more…)
So You Think You Can Dance

Dancing’s back! While I watch Dancing With the Stars each season, for me, the real dancing show is So You Think You Can Dance. I continue to be amazed at the wonderful dances created by the show’s choreographers.
For the past two weeks, I’ve been glued to my sofa each Tuesday and Wednesday evening. watching the initial auditions of SYTYCD. This past week was the Las Vegas call-backs, where the top 160 or so had to do various choreographed dances. (more…)
