Here are the nominated songs of the year, several which have been featured before on the blog. Of course you know that I love Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger. And Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me is a definite ear worm but then again so is the anthem, We Are Young by Fun. Which is your favorite?

I like everything but the R&B song by Miguel. My favorite is still Stronger by Kelly Clarkson.
I didn’t like the R & B song either. It didn’t seem original at all -more like a water-downed version of the classics.
Oh I thought this was about Record of the Year and I was going to vote for Taylor Swift’s song.
))))
These are the nominees for record of the year – I don’t they would have fit in the column(grin):
. Record Of The Year
“Lonely Boy” — The Black Keys
“Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” — Kelly Clarkson
“We Are Young” — FUN. Featuring Janelle Monáe
“Somebody That I Used To Know” — Gotye Featuring Kimbra
“Thinkin Bout You” — Frank Ocean
“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” — Taylor Swift
In order of preference for record of the year:
Fun.
The black keys
Taylor swift
I am not a fan of the Gotye song.
I just don’t get all the love for Taylor Swift – she is a very pretty girl/women but her songs don’t really do anything for me. I don’t dislike them, but I don’t really like them either.
Yikes – woman, instead of women.
My favorite right now is the Irish group The Script, and they weren’t nominated for anything. I don’t often find groups where the lyrics are so smart AND the music is so good, but they manage to accomplish both in most of their songs. Plus I think they capture certain emotions so perfectly — as in their song “Nothing”, which is about trying to convince a former lover to take you back (which never works), or “Break Even”, which is about how when a coule breaks up it’s usually much harder on one of them than on the other (”I got time but she got freedom”). Oh well, maybe next year.
