Can You Explain This?

psychicI’m a hard-headed realist who tends to strongly doubt the supernatural. Psychic mediums, ghosts, alien abductions, are all beyond belief. But…there have been occasions that have caused cracks in my idea of reality. In the past I’ve had an extremely scary seance with a Ouija Board that still scares the pants off me when I think about it. I had a puppy that was throwing herself at the front door in the middle of the night trying to get out, and when I opened the door she slipped past me and chased a thing off my front porch that was thigh height and made a noise like nothing I’ve ever heard – and it ran on two legs. A long time passed and then I was walking that same dog in the early morning hours when a silent craft flew over, just a few stories above my head, which I later saw on TV as a child’s drawing of an alien ship in another country.

These and other incidents have always made me wonder, and recently I added a new experience to that list.

It was a Saturday morning and I was enjoying a rare sleep-in. My husband was working at his job which requires him to visit clients in their home, and my kids were occupied on their computers or whatever. I almost never remember my dreams, but this morning I had one that was very vivid. I was standing in a strange kitchen talking to a woman, and a huge dog entered the room. It walked right up to me and leaned against the front of my legs. I petted it and said things like “This is the biggest Great Dane I’ve ever seen” and “What a cool dog!” I jolted out of sleep and could still feel its warmth on my lower body and I could recall the feel of its soft black fur on my fingers. After I checked the time (10:28 am) I got out of bed and went to tell my children about my dream.

Later, when my husband came home from work, he said “I saw the coolest dog today!” And I said “Wait! Was it a big black Great Dane and you petted it in a kitchen around 10:30?” And he said “Yes. How did you know?”

So what do you think? Strange coincidence or evidence of a psychic connection between me and my husband? Have you had strange occurrences of your own?

I’m a big believer, hopefully, with a healthy degree of skepticism. I have had several experiences with what I believe to have been ghosts in my life, one of which was extremely personal in which I saw my much loved grandfather about a year after his death.

As for UFOs, my mother and I had a close up sighting when I was a teenager and it changed my life. I have been fascinated ever since. I’m a member of the Mutual UFO Network so I do keep up with current sightings. What did the craft you saw look like?

Sandy – How lovely that your grandfather visited you! I’ve had no experiences with ghosts myself, thankfully. Seems like it would be very scary.

The craft I saw was almost perfectly triangular with several lights in the forward-facing angle and two really big lights on the other angles. The bigger lights were oblong shaped. What was weird was that I wouldn’t even have known it was there if my dog hadn’t seen it first, and it was so close it felt like I could have climbed on the roof of my two story apartment and touched it. I didn’t hear any wind noise or engine type noise, just a subsonic kind of hum maybe. It was moving really slowly, or else it was huge and the perspective was off.
It wasn’t a recent sighting, unfortunately, being before my daughter was born – 1995 maybe? If the MUN is interested in sightings that old, I have an ex-boyfriend who saw something spectacular back in 91 or 92. He and a whole busload of Greyhound passengers travelling with him experienced it.

Triangular crafts are one of the most common these days and have been for a while now. Usually they are almost completely silent. They just sort of seem to be gliding silently along.

And Mufon is definitely interested in all reports!

My mom and I had a similar experience to your dog one. I was about 12 and my mother and I were in a department store. She went off to the appliance department and I went off on my own with a promise to meet her at a specific time.

I was shopping and I heard her say in my head, so clearly, “Sandy, come help me.” I was really puzzled by it and went off to find her. She was buying something that was too big to carry on her own and she said when she saw me, “oh, I was just thinking that it would be great if you came to help me carry this.” It was damn weird. For whatever reason, we were both tuned into each other in that moment and her signal got through to my head. As I said, weird.

Sandy, I’ll email him and ask him to report it. Thanks for the link.

Personal question – Do you ever hear someone call your name just when you’re about to fall asleep?
