A Supernatural Addiction

I haven’t done much reading over the last week because I’ve discovered a new addiction: Supernatural. The show is now in its fifth season, but I’ve just never gotten around to watching it. Since I’ve been hearing good things I borrowed Season 1 on DVD from my sister. Last week I finally got around to checking it out — and was immediately hooked. I think I probably stayed up late every night last week, and watched all 22 episodes of the first season in about 5 days. Yeah, it’s that good. I’m on the waiting lists for Seasons Two through Four at the library, but I don’t know if I can last that long without a Sam and Dean fix. Is anybody else watching this show? Anybody else addicted like I am? If you’re not addicted to this show, what show are you addicted to?

Katie, believe it or not, Supernatural gets even better. Like you, I was way late to the Supernatural party. I have no idea how I missed it. I’m caught up now and love everything about it.

I love how Sam and Dean compliment each other. They are so different, but it has to be that way. I just love them. Sigh.

Oh, my gosh, this is the first tv show in many years to truly capture my interest, not to mention my heart! I’m another late-to-the-party fan; I didn’t start watching until after the third season had already aired. I had a couple of online friends who kept telling me to check it out, but I really had no interest in yet another onslaught of the current torrent of ghosts, demons, witches, etc. dominating both bookshelves and airwaves.

But…that’s not what this show is about. Oh, it is, I know–but the core of the show is the relationship between these two brothers, how they drive each other nuts, how they love each other, will fight for one another, even die for one another.

This is the ONLY show that has my entire family sucked in, from my 12-year-old daughter to my teenage sons, and even hubby. We all gather round the television together when Supernatural comes on; how many shows do that anymore?

I’ve managed to talk a few people into giving it a chance, and guess what? After an episode, maybe two, they are hooked! Definitely under-appreciated, this is a show that deserves a lot more attention that what it’s received, possibly because many people dismiss it (as I did) as being just another paranormal story jumping on the bandwagon. It isn’t.

Oooh, now I’m even more excited about the next few seasons. Sometimes a show rocks the first season, then goes downhill from there, so I’m glad to hear that isn’t the case with Supernatural.

Oh, a big “Hell, Yeah”! :) I LOVE “Supernatural,” and it definitely does get better after the first season! (And the yummy Jeffrey Dean Morgan shows up. LOL.) I’ve been missing ‘Buffy’ and ‘Angel’ a lot, and “Supernatural” was the first show that really captured me a lot since.

Enjoy the rest of the seasons — I know you will!

I started watching from the beginning. I have to play catch up for this season, because I missed the first one. I have to admit I’m getting a little tired of the whole demon/angel thing and having way too much time spent on anguished looks BUT still one of my favorite shows, one that I have to tape even if I’m watching because what if somebody calls!!!

I have a whole list of shows I like to watch to varying degrees – Criminal Minds, Bones, CSI, Heroes, Fringe, Lost, Numbers, Dollhouse, Eureka (another big favorite), misc. decorating and cooking shows. I only added a couple from last season – Lie To Me, and Castle. This season, I haven’t added anything yet. I’ve been quite disappointed despite really looking forward to some shows, just seemed boring and didn’t really ring my bells. So I watch if I’m there, but don’t bother taping. I’ve been saving Sanctuary but haven’t watched yet because my daughter wants to watch with me. Has anyone been watching it and if so, what did you think?

I found Supernatural last winter, midway through Season 4. I’d picked up the Season 1 DVD set on sale at Target thinking, as a Buffy fan, I’d like it. Well, that was an understatement. I’m so completely hooked on this show. My son and I have a standing Thursday night date on the couch to watch it. These two brothers just break my heart, and if Jensen Ackles got any better looking, I’d have to watch wearing sunglasses.

I envy you that you still get to experience Seasons 2 thru 4 for the first time. It’s all fabulous – plan to lose a lot of sleep staying up to watch episode after episode because it’s impossible to turn it off!

    I love Supernatural!
I saw it on and off since the beginning but it was last season when I accidentally caught the first episode of the season and I was Hooked. So I’ve been following it faithfully ever since.
