Victoria S: Funny you should be blogging about “vintage”. I recently discovered the joy of vintage apron shopping. I love to be in the kitchen, I am sloppy as all get out, and have been wearing boring old black barbecue aprons. Went online and checked out some old (and new reproduction) bib aprons, now I’m hooked. I think I’m gonna start my “Donna Reed/Mrs. Cleaver” apron collection.

I have sevetal aprons purchased for the same reason as you. Keep some boring ones though. There is nothing worse than staining your favorite coffee print apron with some weird fuschia colored food . . .

Funny you should be blogging about "vintage". I recently discovered the joy of vintage apron shopping. I love to be in the kitchen, I am sloppy as all get out, and have been wearing boring old black barbecue aprons. Went online and checked out some old (and new reproduction) bib aprons, now I'm hooked. I think I'm gonna start my "Donna Reed/Mrs. Cleaver" apron collection. Since they're like $30--$40 a pop, collection is liable to start off quite small, but I anticipate many birthdays and Christmases wrapped in vintage aprons.

PS. I did Google vintage peignoirs, and you are right! Some of those professional sellers are selling peignoir sets for more than my mortgage payment! I remember my mom wearing them and thinking they were very pretty. But I guess, for for safety reasons, she always got us cotton. And frankly, until this blog, I had forgotten how nice I used to think my mom looked, and how pretty they were when she walked down the hall in the mornings.

I remember that old ILGWU tag, and even remember the song from the commercials. Thanks for the memory booster :-)

I used to work at a bank that did business with Miss Elaine. I was an acoount rep for them for several years and got along so well with their CFO he would let me shop their racks at a discount. Really nice people and a great product.

I Have worn them but honestly I prefer shorts and t-shirts. Since I sleep on my stomach with my knee bent they always end up around my waist. They are pretty though.

My mother bought me a peignoir set when I was planning my wedding. Beautiful. . . but not really comfortable. Of course it really just suppose to be for show (grin)
