Billy Corgan's voice is like nails on a chalkboard. The lead singer from Sugarland also drives me bonkers. Don't know what it is about her voice but, man, I can't change the station fast enough. It's funny what we find enjoyable vs intolerable. I love bluegrass music but a friend of mine did indeed literally leave the room when I was listening to Alison Krauss & Union Station's version of "I'm Blue, I'm Lonesome". I've somewhat changed my attitude toward her, though, since I've seen her mentor on the Idol show last year. But for the most part, she does turn me off. When Madonna was popular (and she grew up only a few miles away from where I live), I had a similar reaction to her. I'm sure the persona Lady Gaga portrays lends to that reaction from me. Nonetheless, it's there. When I hear her on the radio while driving, the voice still doesn't do much for me even without the visuals.
